Zef Eisenberg

Zef Eisenberg is a successful entrepreneur and multiple world motorbike and car ultra speed racer and land speed record holder. Probably best known for his incredible land speed records at Pendine Sands in Wales where he achieved the holy grail of 201.572mph on his MADMAX super-charged Hayabusa motorbike in May 2018, making him the world's fastest motorbiker on sand ever. This was followed by a 210.33mph outright car record just one month later, in a 1200hp Porsche 911 Turbo, making Zef the only person in history to achieve over 200mph in a car and bike at Pendine Sands and over 47 land speed records to date.

In August 2019, Zef became the TV presenter and racer for 'Speed Freaks', a new ITV4 motorsport/entertainment TV programme, that delivered high ratings and great reviews. He was also a guest on Henry Cole's 'The Bike Show' featuring his world famous 560hp helicopter powered turbine bike.

Zef left school just before 16, taking up weight training and getting a job in the health food industry. His passion led him to become a fully qualified senior gym instructor and nutrionalist. With money saved from his job, he started the publishing company Maximuscle, producing newsletters on weight training and sports supplements and leading him to publish his first sports supplement book. This became a best seller, and provided him with the funds to set up the sports food brand Maximuscle, becoming the UK’s no.1 sports food brand within six years, which was sold to Glaxo in 2011. Zef now leads The MAXIgroup, which incorporates; Maxicorp a multi million pound investment/development property company, MADMAX Race team, a dedicated autosport engineering company, MAXIGYM, a wellness company, MADMAX Pizza chain and EISENBERG Racing.

Much of Zef’s life is focused on his obsession to understand how things work and how to make them better, whether that’s the science of motorbike engines, land speed racing or human performance. His first business, Maximuscle – a sport nutrition brand – was driven by a need to know how to make the body; stronger, fitter and more muscular. With his background as a senior gym instructor and sports nutrition expert, Maximuscle became the first company to market and sell; Whey protein, Creatine, Glutamine and many other now common sports nutrition products.  The products were soon used and endorsed by the country’s leading; Olympic athletes, boxing, rugby stars and football clubs. Maximuscle was eventually bought by Glaxo Smith Kline for a record £162 million in 2011, having already become Europe’s best-selling and most profitable sports nutrition brand.

But Zef’s journey hasn’t always been plain sailing. In September 2016 he was presumed dead at the scene when he crashed his turbine-powered motorbike at 230mph (Britain’s fastest survived motorbike crash) in an attempt to set another world land speed record t over 240mph on his Jet Turbine motorbike at Elvington, Yorkshire. He woke up three days later in hospital having broken 11 bones, supported by full carbon and titanium exo-skeleton, and faced a long physical and emotional recovery, three months in hospital followed by three months in a wheel chair. He resolved to race again on a newly built turbine bike on the anniversary of the crash, same event, same track at speeds of 200mph. He amazed his doctors and physio, by achieving that goal less than a year after the big crash, thanks to a 101% focus on training, nutrition and positive thinking.

Having achieved his Jet Turbine bike land speed goals, he turned his focus to the holy grail of speed, to become the first motorbiker in history to exceed 200mph on sand, less than two years after the big crash, with a goal to beat Sir Malcolm Campbell record of 174mph. Zef chose Pendine Sands, in Wales, as it's considered a mecca of land speed racing and the home of land speed legends Sir Malcolm Campbell and Parry Thomas. This historic land speed goal was smashed when Zef achieved a speed of 201.5mph on his MADMAX super charged motorbike, just 18 months after the near fatal crash.

In his spare time, he has also been designing from scratch the world's lightest and most powerful V8 motorbike in the world, with nearly 500hp from a 3000cc V8 aspirated engine weighing only 79kg. It achieved during testing 207mph running the engine in, with no fairing and upright bars. It is hoped that in 2020, a special limited production run will be offered to selected invites.  The company EISENBERG racing is now creating the world's first 'Jet Turbine' powered car.

Zef’s philosophy is to 'live life to the MAX'. His success in both business and racing life pays testament to this. He never considered giving up motorbike racing following his accident, and used the experience to set new personal, speed and business goals.

Zef’s home is in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, where he has lived since 2005, and the speed limit is just 35mph! He is heavily involved in local community projects and philanthropy, building the islands largest skatepark and adventure playground.
